We will not cover websites, blogging, wikis and twitter today but you may find the following useful

Websites

I use http://www.weebly.com  which has a school version and includes basic blogging capabilities.  The school version allows for each child to have their own area.

Blogging

I use Blogger - www.blogger.com but block the comments or, preferably, have them moderated with everything coming to you and/or other adults before it can be published.

Wordpress
http://wordpress.org/  offers even more flexiblity and is suitable if you are willing to invest more time to getting to know its capabilities.

This has also been recommended to me -
http://kidblog.org

Again your VLE or website might include blogging capabilities.

Wikis

I am using Wikispaces for Educators http://www.wikispaces.com/content/for/teachers - excellent and very intuitive.

Twitter

I use Twitter for CPD purposes - @JuliaBhamICT for work purposes.

In school it is useful but needs to be carefully used, some interesting ideas here-
https://docs.google.com/present/view?id=dhn2vcv5_118cfb8msf8 and useful advice.

Or to use something like twitter but keep it within the class and parents try
